Lyness Beauty
Founded by Trina Links
Trina is a marketer, formulator, nature-lover, and adventurer who believes beauty should
never come at the expense of your health—or the planet. Our mission is to create clean, effective hair care that not only helps women feel confident in their hair, while honouring the earth through sustainable practices and
naturally derived ingredients.
The spark for Lyness began long before the brand officially launched in 2020. Trina developed a passion for product development while working with natural health and wellness brands through her former marketing agency, and later as General Manager of Arrowleaf Naturals, makers of NaturPet, Arrowleaf Pet, Dr. Maggie, and Master Formulae Botanicals. But it wasn’t until a life-changing trip that the vision for Lyness truly came into focus.

The trip that changed it all
In early 2020, just as the pandemic began, Trina and her oldest daughter, Carissa, set off on a backpacking trip to Panama. Traveling light with only carry-on bags, Trina searched for a travel-friendly shampoo and conditioner bar set. What she found was disappointing—overpriced, hard to lather, and left her hair dry, tangly, and unmanageable. At the same time, the two were struck by the environmental toll of plastic waste, seeing trash piled along highways and floating in waterways.
That experience shaped the foundation of Lyness Beauty: to create the very best shampoo and conditioner bars—ones that lather beautifully, smell delicious, and leave hair soft, shiny, and manageable. Trina combined her formal education in organic hair care formulation with her years of product development experience to solve real hair concerns like dandruff, frizz, split ends, premature greying, and slow growth.
Beyond performance, the products needed to be travel-friendly, plastic-reducing, and environmentally conscious.

We believe clean beauty should mean safe, effective, and enjoyable. At Lyness, we only use ingredients that don’t carry risks to your health, beauty, or the environment. Whenever possible, we choose all-natural ingredients. Where nature can’t deliver the performance needed, we carefully select non-toxic, proven safe synthetics to ensure our formulas are both gentle and effective. None of our ingredients score higher than 1
in the EWG’s Skin Deep database.
Environmental Responsibility
Every small choice adds up. From plastic-reducing shampoo and conditioner bars to compact, travel-friendly designs, we are constantly working to shrink our environmental footprint. We actively explore more eco-friendly alternatives while balancing cost, shipping, and quality.
We believe what goes down your drain shouldn’t harm rivers, streams, or oceans. That’s why we design every formula with biodegradability and long-term safety in mind.

Why “Lyness”?
The name Lyness comes from a blend of Trina’s middle name, Lynn, and the word tress—meaning a long lock of hair. Together, it reflects our promise: to help women everywhere feel proud of their tresses, naturally.
